About

The Migration Storytelling Project at Stanford University aims data science and new methods of research to find unseen elements that account for human migration, its success and failure.

Our goals are create a common language for speaking about migration, so that journalists, historians, sociologists and policymakers have a mature vocabulary through which to describe modern migrations, the range of potential best outcomes for their individual, economic and geopolitical consequences.

Sifting historical evidence of migration and pioneering new methods of data science will enable using a vast growing array of text, cartographic, genetic, archeological and other data.
